Galaxy Unpacked Highlights July 2024

Samsung held their second Galaxy Unpacked Event of the year on July 10th in Paris, France. At the beginning of the year, we heard a lot of rumours about possible smartphone releases and new product releases, and at the most recent event, these rumoured products were all revealed.
It was a very successful event held by Samsung, and we are here to break it down and explain everything that was announced. There is a lot to get through, so let’s get into it.

First up is the main reason the event was held, the Z Series 6 smartphones, both fold and flip editions were released:
When was Galaxy Fold announced?
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 was announced, being described as the slimmest and lightest fold smartphone Samsung have ever created. When folded, the phone will offer a gorgeous 6.3” screen with a stronger and brighter display that has 2600nits screen brightness. This smartphone has been made with gamers in mind, helping improve your gaming experience with the screen choice which aims to blend together durability and flexibility. This device will be available for $1899. (£1467)
When did the Galaxy Z Flip 6 come out?
Next up was the second edition, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. This phone will have the most powerful camera, with a 50MP wide sensor and x10 zoom range. As well as this, the Z Flip 6 has many new features that makes taking photos easy. With Pro Visual Engine, analyse lighting conditions, isolate delicate facial features and make your images appear sharper and finer. With FlexCam, auto detect and zoom your image accordingly to ensure everyone is in the frame, this can be done using hands free! As well as this, there are a couple other AI features that will better your mobile experience, with the interactive phone wallpaper, your phone wallpaper can change according to the weather, time of day and other factors. You can also get instant communication with any language in person because the phones double backed screen allows instant translation when talking. This device will be available for $1099. (£849)
What is the Galaxy Ring?
Next was certainly the most anticipated section of the event, the long awaited announcement for the Samsung Galaxy Ring, the titanium made health ring available in silver, black and gold. How much is the Galaxy Watch Ultra?
And finally, the last major tech release from Unpacked 2024 was the Samsung Galaxy Ultra Watch. Described by Samsung themselves as ultra and sleek, the watch is perfect for all environments and weathers. It lasts 100 hours in power saving mode and works x3 faster than the previous watches CPU. This year, wearOS5 are partnering with Google, to deliver incredible AI abilities. As well as this, the Galaxy Watch Ultra will have a 10ATM water resistant, dual frequency GPS system for accurate travelling and titanium cushion frames to improve durability, so it really is made for the outdoors. Overall, we are very happy with everything released from Samsung. Of course we got to see the iconic annual release of their fold and flip phones, but it was great to see the new addition of the Galaxy Ring, and we cannot wait to check this product out when it is in stores.
